GPYB DV Project

A reader here gave me this idea and I think it’s brilliant.

The Getting Past Your Breakup book was written for anyone who is struggling with getting past a breakup and it was my goal to be all inclusive, meaning it is not gender specific. sexual orientation specific, age specific or targeted to a particular audience. To me, grief is universal and should be treated as such.

BUT, the Getting Past Your Breakup book starts with “My Story” which details some of my experience with abuse and being a victim of domestic violence. I broke the cycle of abuse and went on to have a wonderful life free of violence. I wish this for everyone who has ever been a victim of domestic violence. In fact, getting my story out there was a HUGE motivating factor in writing the book and starting it with my story.

So to get that story out, I have been sitting here each night mailing out books to local Domestic Violence shelters and organizations. But I’m just one person in one place and I’d love for it to go a little faster.

So if you donate a book to your local domestic violence shelter or organization, I will match it and send them another one OR send one to another organization of your choosing.

Just drop me an email at sj_elliott AT verizon DOT net and tell me that you donated a book and I will send a book onto the DV organization or shelter of your choice.

Get the word out there!!
