What’s in this podcast:

Grief and Loss and Not Getting Over It

45 Abraham is Karl Abraham who was the other theorist who discussed mourning with Freud

45 Grief is a battle between wanting to hold on while needing to let go.  It’s a slow process that expends cathartic energy. Cathartic energy is emotion expressed (crying, not sleeping, being anxious).

16 It’s normal to have fleeting thoughts of suicide when grieving.  When is it not normal?

15 Antidepressants will not take the feelings away.  If you are despairing, get a depression screening.

40 When you heal, it helps to pass it on.

40  Acceptance at the end of the grief process.

30 Let other people know that grief ends and you can heal.

25 Time does not heal all wounds.

35 The training that therapists don’t get

00 We need to be able to talk about grief and loss

00 CLARISSA (sorry!)

45 Why self-care is important

30 Give yourself permission to feel as bad as you really feel
